Torcal Estates is based within the village of Villanueva de la Concepción, in the Málaga province of Andalucia.

This part of Andalucia is little known although access to Málaga itself, the coast and many of the better-known destinations is easy. Whilst many northern European buyers have not found this area in great numbers, the Spanish love the area for its beauty, fresh air during the hot summers and the ease with which you can reach it.

Villanueva de la Concepción is located midway between Málaga and Antequera, a beautiful and historic city known as the “crossroads of Andalucia”.

Access to this area from the coast, Málaga and the airport couldn’t be easier with the A45 running north from Málaga to Antequera. If you are coming from Málaga direction it is best to exit the dual carriageway at the Casabermeja junction which you will know is coming if you have just been through two tunnels.

Once off the dual carriageway you leave Casabermeja and head into real Spanish countryside. Fields and olive groves will pass you by and in a few minutes you’ll be heading under the new toll motorway (AP46) running from Las Pedrizas to Puerto de la Torre.

For most of the journey from Casabermeja you will see the impressive El Torcal mountain range on your right hand side. This mountain and the beautiful Natural Park it sits in offers visitors a glimpse of something extremely rare. Rock formations created millions of years ago created by glacial erosion give you a backdrop within which you can explore some of the many walks.

Just below El Torcal you will see your first view of Villanueva de la Concepción sitting in the lower slopes of the mountain range. Given its situation, the village sits a fair distance above sea level creating a wonderfully clear and crisp climate to enjoy all year round. During the height of the summer months there is a gentle breeze which takes the sting out of the sun and during the winter there is protection from the cold experienced farther north given by El Torcal.
